Bellefontaine Cemetery
A visit to Bellefontaine Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri - the final resting place of some of the most important people in the city's history. Founded in 1849, Bellefontaine is home to a number of architecturally significant monuments and mausoleums such as the Louis Sullivan-designed Wainwright Tomb, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The cemetery covers 314 acres of land and contains over 87,000 graves, including those of explorer William Clark, beer baron Adolphus Busch, painter Thomas Hart Benton, diplomat David R.
